LOWELL, Harold B. – Of Flint, age 88, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his residence. 


Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Lisa Roark officiating.


 


Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 


Burial in Flint Memorial Park with military honors. 


Harold was born in Mt. Morris, Michigan on December 7, 1929, the son of George W. and Mamie (Warren) Lowell. 


He served in the Army and the Army National Guard. 


Mr. Lowell was employed by Chevrolet for 34 years, retiring in 1983.


He loved to hunt, fish and was an avid woodworker. 


Surviving are wife, Betty Lowell, of 58 years; 


sons, Bob and wife Kim Lowell, Steve and wife Sandi Lowell;


daughter, Ann Marie and husband Lyle Bentley; 


grandchildren, Courtney and Shawn Jones, Evan Lowell, Jordan and Brittany Lowell, Kara and Scott Markland, Karl and Christine Sahlke and Russell Sahlke; 


5 great-grandchildren. 


He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mamie Lowell; 8 brothers and 1 sister.

Mrs. Lowell, Chad and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your family. We have enjoyed being your neighbors at 2415 Tuscola for 17 years. We will miss coming down talking with Mr. Lowell and seeing you guys walking in the neighborhood.

Betty and Family my thoughts and prayers are with you all at the loss of Harold. I won't be able to come out but please know that my heart is with you all. I know he will be really missed he was so friendly to everyone and just a great person.

Uncle Harold was a warm and kind man. He always put his family first. I am sorry I am not able to be at your celebration of life Saturday. He is now with his family that have gone before him. He will be missed very much. Our family have so many precious memories of family reunions and Sundays at Grandma's house. Aunt Betty my prayers are with you and your children.

My thoughts are with the family of Harold Lowell. He was a wonderful man. I have many fond memories of camping with him and his family. He always felt more like my Uncle than my great Uncle. You will be truly missed. May he be welcomed into heaven by all of his siblings.

Ann Marie, I am so sorry for your dad's passing. I knew he had not been well for awhile. My heart aches for you. You have been blessed with slot of good years and memories.
