Mr. Marchand was an inspirational teacher and mentor to many. I remember class and Latin Olympics fondly. Kind condolences.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Marchand for English and Study Hall. His classes were great and he was always willing to go the extra mile to make it interesting! He was one who obviously had a passion for teaching! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family!

Mr. Marchand was the greatest teacher and most influential adult in my life. I began to study under him then 7th grade in which was I think the first Latin class that was approved by the North Canton City Schools.
I was recruited, so to speak, to the class. I studied every year with him from Seventh through 12th grade taking the last couple of years as specially approved Advanced study personal inquiry into Latin, because I had already passed through the many established levels of the...

To Mr. Marchand's family: I am very sorry for your loss. I have very happy memories of three years of Latin classes with Mr. Marchand at Hoover High School, starting 51 years ago. He was a superb teacher! It is hard to capture his spirit in words, but he radiated a generous, positive energy that was driven by his faith. To Tom and Kim and family, We are so,so sorry to hear about your father's death. He was a wonderful Godly man and had such a vitality for life.
