My wife and I were deeply saddened to hear of Harold's passing. Harold was an immensely gifted organist and educator. I was privileged and honored to have him as a friend and also as accompanist at my HSPVA senior recital in 1985. Years later, Harold graciously agreed to travel to San Antonio,Texas to perform on the organ at my wedding. It was truly splendid! I will always remember Harold's kind and giving nature and the "hearty" laugh that personified his optimistic spirit.

Marcia and Kermit, I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother. I first met Harold when I became his math student in Algebra II at HSPVA in 1982. That began our 34-year friendship, which encompassed everything from violin and piano recitals, trips to the best water parks in Texas, handbells at First Presbyterian, several HSPVA tours, with Norway in 1986 being the most memorable, and the perpetual search for even more fantastic restaurants in Houston. I still have my pencil he passed out in...

Harold was a wonderful and a truly gifted musician. I remember when our choir went to Scotland and all of the organ stops were on the opposite side he was used to . He adjusted beautifully and never missed a beat. He was a member of our running group the Mimosa Milers and we meet each Saturday for our run and Harold was always out front. He was a humble person but truly gifted. My life was enriched with his friendship.

Our family was blessed to know Harold as the organist for our choir at First Presbyterian, as our daughter's patient, creative math teacher at HSPVA and as our running buddy every Saturday morning with the Mimosa Milers. He was a precious man who will be missed by so many.

Dear McManus Family:
Harold Lynn was one of my first Organ major students at Mercer University. I will always remember him for his charm and wit. We visited many times when I lived in San Francisco; he also came to Tampa to visit me several times. May our Lord keep him in His arms forever. God Bless. James W. Carmichael
