Harold Woodrow Mize, 89, of Scottsdale, was born on March 20, 1918 and passed away on February 2, 2008. We celebrate the life of Harold Woodrow Mize. Our beloved H.W., Daddy Harold, loved, guided, and blessed his wife Fern with four children, Marsha, Phil (Charolyn), David (Patty), and Melissa (Greg); grandchildren, Mia, Jordan, Chandra, Justin, Meredith, Ashley, Tyler, and Aubrey; and great-grandchilden, Jeffrey, Audrey, Chase, and Elle. He was an example of love, patience, and generosity to every life he touched. A memorial service will be held at Tempe Church of Christ, 2424 S. Mill Ave., at 7PM Thursday, February 7, 2007. Harold Mize was my uncle and one of the kindest and gentlest men I ever knew. He was my mother's last living sibling; the end of a large, loud, really fun family. Aunt Fern and the family will continue to be in my prayers.

I will miss my wonderful dad so much!
I took care of mom and dad everyday and his passing has left a huge hole in my life. I remember how kind and funnny he was. He would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was also very loyal and worked for the same company (TWA) for 40 years. He took wonderful care of my mother until he no longer could, but was still concerned with her well being even when his health declined. He loved his children, grandchildren and great...

I recall Harold Mize working for Trans World Airlines with my Dad Merle Himes an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor in Phoenix. In Aviation Week magazine 3 to 4 years ago, the TWA mechanics were honored when it noted TWA had the best maintenance record in the industry having flown over 6.5 million miles of accident free maintenance service. There were problems but not the result of maintenance. A Ms. Hom, who was the last secretary for PHX Maintenance, spoke at Dad's service and said "The TWA...
