Harold L. Munson

I was a student in the NDEA Elementary School Guidance Institute (1967-1968) that Harold managed. At his encouragement, I went on to receive a doctoral degree (1971) under Harold's guidance, was an elementary school counselor, and for 31 years was a counselor educator at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. With Harold's support and encouragement, I wrote a number of counseling textbooks and dedicated one my writings to Harold. Harold was a great friend and a wonderful mentor. I was so sorry...

Dr Munson was a wonderful mentor as I worked towards completion of my Master's Degree. He was so kind and helpful, and I still remember the overwhelming feeling of joy when I drove to his home to turn in the final copy of my thesis. I am grateful for having been able to benefit from his knowledge and guidance at the University of Rochester. My belated condolences to his family.

I will miss his kindness and his interest in others. Our family, including our little boys, will always cherish our memories of Harold, including how we would read his wonderful book about his childhood before bedtime, and long ago days at Pine Eden.
Harold did much for many. We will miss him but are very grateful for the time he gave us and what we learned from him.
