Harold Nowak was born December 13, 1924 in Detroit. He was a Navy man in WW II, serving his country as a tug boat Machinist Mate in places like Guam, Tinnian, and Pearl Harbor after the attack. Not a “glory job” at all. Difficult, technical, hard work down below, keeping the ships running that helped win the war.

After the war, Harold worked by day, and studied engineering by night.
