HAROLD CECIL PEARSALL died in the house in which he was born, at age 75, March 2004. Harold was born February 24, 1929 to Curtis Azalee Pearsall and Joel George Pearsall. He was the second of four children. He graduated from Phillis Wheatly High School in 1946. He attended Hampton Institute, Hampton, Virginia earning Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, 1951. He was hired by the Department of Defense shortly after graduation to work as a Naval Architect designing surface ships and submarines. He was preceeded in death by his parents and his older brother Joel G. Pearsall. He is survived by his only son, Harold C. Pearsall, Jr. and grandchildren Sterling Pearsall and Bishop Pearsall, sister Bobbie Jean Pearsall, brother Gurney F. Pearsall, Sr., MD and wife Rae Ann, sister in law, Audrey Pearsall, nieces Lisa Pearsall Otey, MD and husband Theodore Otey, MD, Staci Pearsall and husband Stephen Tate, Phd., and Vyvianne Sewell and husband Cloyce. Nephews include Gurney F. Pearsall, Jr. MD and wife Marina Pearsall, MD, J. Patrick Pearsall, MD and wife Jessica Pearsall, and John Christian Pearsall, as well a host of cousins and other relatives. Also left to survive him is his former wife and mother of his son Elizabeth Barrett Pearsall. On Saturday March 27, 2004 at 10:30 a.m., funeral service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1510 Pannell St., where Harold was baptized, with Reverend Harvey Clemons presiding. Interment will be at Paradise Cemetery North.
