Harold C. Reid

Harold C Reid, 83, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2011.

Harold was born in Lynchburg, Virginia and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Reid.

Harold married the love of his life and his E C Glass High School sweetheart Ann Walkup Reid December 25th, 1948. He retired from Lynchburg Foundry in Sales with over 48 years of service.

He and Ann loved sports! Tennis and golf were two of their favorites - played as couples and individually. Their love for travel included golf on the oldest golf course - Saint Andrews in Scotland.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Walkup Reid of Forest, and his children, Greg Reid and his wife Vanessa of Manakin-Sabot, VA, Keith Reid, Suzanne Reid Baker and Kim Reid Hogan all of Forest, VA. Grandson - Gus Baker of Dallas, TX and Granddaughters - Brenna Runyon and Emily Hedrick and two great grandchildren Emera and Gracie Ann all of VA. He is also survived by his brother, Richard G Reid of Lynchburg and sister, Jean Reid Johns of South Carolina and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, August 12, 2011 at Court Street United Methodist Church by Reverend Doug Pillow and Patrick Pillow.
