Dr. Harold James "Jim" Reimer, 75 years of age, of Harrisburg, NC went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at home with his family by his side.

Jim was born February 16, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Harold David Reimer and the late Ernestine Reimer.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kathie Reimer; son, James "Mark" Reimer and wife Nichole; daughter, Elisabeth "Lisa" Reimer Whittle and husband Scott; daughter, Jenifer Nicole Reimer; brother, Jerry Reimer and wife Shelley; brother, Robert Reimer and wife Sharon; sister, Marsha Reimer Peterson and husband Gene; sister, Jane Reimer Liberator and husband Wade; grandchildren Graham Whittle, Micah Whittle, Shae Whittle, Lukas Reimer, Cade Reimer, Allison Reimer and Troy Heston.

Jim served God faithfully over the years as pastor of ten churches in eight states. Later, because of his extensive experience in church leadership, he acted as a church growth consultant with John Maxwell's Injoy Ministries, and the Oklahoma Baptist Convention. Because of his life-long love of the outdoors and wildlife, Jim established the Sportsmen's Outreach Ministry Events (S.O.M.E. Ministries) to reach men and their families for Christ. His achievements include the Evangelism Leading Church Awards, Missouri Baptist Convention, Dictionary of International Biography Volume XV, Evangelism Pace Setter Award - Oklahoma Baptist Convention, Who's Who in Religion in America, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, Master Key Award given by the faculty of California Baptist University for Outstanding Contribution to Campus Life, Ministerial Alliance President, Trustee for Midwestern Seminary, SE Seminary and SW University, Bolivar, MD.

In spite of all his accomplishments, his relationship with Jesus Christ and his deep love for each member of his family, brought him the greatest joy.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at West Cabarrus Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will then follow at the Carolina Memorial Park in Harrisburg, NC.

Not sure what to say?

I was an elementary school student when Jim Reimer came to serve the Baptist Tabernacle in Atlanta. I'm now 55 and a pastor in the Presbyterian Church, and I still remember details from sermons he preached about 45 years ago. Lifting a prayer this moment for your family at this first anniversary of his passing.

Kathie, so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I was on staff with Jim at the Baptist Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA. Our deepest sympathy to you and the family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
Don & Jeanie Curtis, Fairview, TX.

Sending all my love and sympathy to you and the whole family, Kathie. Praying for Our Lord's blessings on all of you.

Kathie, We have only know you through Jerry for a short time...but each time we spent with you was very precious. To see the love you two shared was heartwarming. To see the love of Christ through you was so touching. The next while is going to be very tough for you but know you have friends who will be available if you need them...much love, Cathy and Tim

Deepest sympathy in the loss of an extraordinary man. We loved him from the very first time we met him and cherished the fact that we were family after our son married Lisa . We have great memories that we will talk about for years to come . Co-grandparenting with Jim and Kathie has been one of our most wonderful blessings in life . We are forever grateful .
We love and miss you Jim and will see you again someday !

A great man just entered heaven, will always be missed

My sweet brother I affectionately call, Jimbo!
Although I was the baby of 5 in the family, Jim 2nd born, 10 yrs. old. I'm sure I must've rocked his world! Yet he was always kind to me. His funny memory of me was the vision of me running around the house in diapers!
I remember being sad when he left for the Navy. I was just 8 but wrote him letters often & he was so sweet to write me back!
Jimbo was FUN to be around! He always had great stories & was so enthusiastic &...
