Just the other day I learned of the passing of Dr. Peter Levine in MA. I have been out of the hemophilia business for almost 30 years and I have been trying to keep up with those doctors like Dr. Roberts and Dr. Levine who were instrumental in my understanding of the disease and it's impact on patients. Dr. Roberts was not only a pioneer in the field of hematology, but a true asset to those afflicted with bleeding disorders. I will never forget him!

My friend forever.
He was not only a giant in the field of Hematology, but he was a larger then life person: kind , fair , compassionate and person of the people, staying truth to his roots .
I still remember the day when he was in Belgium and met our late King Boudauin and he would never brag or talk about it , unless you mentioned it. That's the kind of person he was ....humble . A devastating loss

Dr. Roberts was kind and encouraging to this physical chemist who knew little about biology. He enriched my life by involving me in conferences and study sections and by sharing his knowledge and experiences. He was a doctor who was deeply interested in the molecular whys of his specialty and was able to convey a human side to all events.

God has given us a life span of 70 and 80 years if we are strong. May you celebrate a life well lived and loved by many. Psalms 90:10

My mother, Thelma Duncan worked with Dr Roberts for many years as his administrative assistant. She had the greatest respect for him, and also for Marilyn. He often brought Mom daylilies from Denmark or other places he visited. Mother had a beautiful display of varieties and colors which she did her best to protect from the deer. Some of those lilies live on in my garden in Wilmington, still attracting deer! Dr and Mrs Roberts were so kind to my Mom in her later years. I will always be...
