Harold O. Sampson, Jr., 88 of Rockland died at his home on August 27, 2015 surrounded by his family and cared for by the Hospice of the South Shore. He was born in Abington, son of the late Harold O. Sampson, Sr. and Ethel (Hunter) Sampson and was raised and educated there. Mr. Sampson was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. Bud had worked in the construction field for 40 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Rockland Post 1788 of the VFW. He is survived by his wife Eunice H. (Rousseau) Sampson, his children Paul Sampson and his wife Anita of Abington, Jeffrey Sampson and his wife Jeanne of Rockland and Ronald Sampson and his fiancé Michele of Bridgewater. Also surviving are his sister Barbara Pierce, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 5-8 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. Rockland. The Rev. Kristy Coburn will officiate at a Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive Rockland, MA 02370.
