Harold A. Shriner

I knew him as Hal. I have many fond memories of working with him at the Statler Inn at Cornell (1979-1986) and of conversations with him when our paths crossed at other times since then. He was a character and I enjoyed his humor. God bless Harold.

Alan was a sweet and loving guy. I remember the one time he was on leave from the service and he came down to our cottage on Seneca Lake and spent the whole day with my family on the beach. We all had such a great day. I am another one who went to the one room school house in Perry City with Alan.I remember all the walks to his house from school for a pail of water .He will always be remembered.

Dear Alan, you will forever be missed by all of us who knew and loved you. We grew up in Perry City, went to Perry City One Room School and Quaker Church together and continued to be friends for over 50 years. I fondly remember walking to get our school drinking water from your home across the road. Your Mother was always there with a cookie or lemonade and a visit!
You were a true and wonderful friend to me and to my family. See Ya Later!

Alan has been gentle and pleasant his whole life and now has gently left us. We shared school days and memories of our years attending the Perry City one room school house. He was one of my very first friends. I miss his home at the corner in Perry City. Memories of visits after school at the kitchen table with his gentle mother in the background come to mind when I think of him. Alan and I were the closest of friends growing up in Perry City. We would ride our bicycles all over the local area visiting other friends or going to the swimming hole in the summertime. He was a kind and gentle person who always reached out to help others. In my mother's final years, Alan would routinely visit with her and make sure she was being taken care of. I'll miss you Alan. Rest in Peace.

Alan (Harold to many) was a close and dear cousin. I was privileged to spend time with him, both during his health and ill health. He never complained, providing a cheery outlook and inquiry about me and others instead. I wish him peace and rest from his tribulations.

I am so sorry to hear about Harold. I met him over 20 years ago when he worked in Sponsored Fund Acctg at Cornell and I had just started as a Mgr. in a dept. He helped me with grants/contracts dealing with NYS. We became good friends. He was a joy to talk to and he had such a great sense of humor. I was just the other day thinking of him. He was greatly missed by all after he retired. God Bless, Harold.
