SOBE , Harold R. - Of Flint, age 79, died Monday, December 15, 2003 at Fostrian Manor. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday, December 18, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Dr. Lawrence W. Kent officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday, 1-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sobe was born in Flint, Michigan on April 30, 1924. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Flint. He enjoyed playing cards at Burton Senior Citizen Center. Mr. Sobe was employed by Gasser Engineering as a Tool and Die Designer. Surviving are wife, Doris; 2 sons, Gordon and wife Kathy of Illinois, Craig and wife Elise of Waterford; 3 daughters, Marleah and husband Bud Schweppe of Illinois, Marsha and husband Jerry Chalmers of Texas, Maurita and husband Joe Garza of Hope, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, David Sobe, Scott Helmka, Melissa and husband Steve Clouthier, Melinda Czuchra, Matthew and wife Amanda Chalmers; 4 great-grandchildren, Riley Helmka, Harrison and Autumn Clouthier and Noah Czuchra; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy and Emmett and a grandson, John Sobe.
