Not sure what to say?

Harriet and I were friends back in college days. Over the years, I've thought of her and her kindness, generosity of spirit and pure intelligence. It is only now 55 years since I last saw Harriet that I learn of her wonderful life filled with love for her family and her fellow person and of her sudden passing some 14 years ago. Do not let a day pass when you think of reaching out to someone whom you care about without finding that person and telling her. Do not. Rest in peace, dear Harriet....

My connection to Harriet was her sharing her daughters with us at Belvoir Terrace. She was obviously a caring, loving mother to her daughters and a supportive successful wife who died too young, too early. Her legacy continues with her daughters and my personal connection with her continues with Julia's weekly concerts which I share with the Belvoir community on facebook. Hopefully somewhere, somehow Harriet can hear her daughter play and know that all her family continue to do well. I will...

Of all the people I have met during my lifetime (and I am talking about several decades), Harriet Carey is the most exceptional one. Harriet possessed all the qualities which people dream of she was kind, smart, generous, understanding, and always ready to help. She was the greatest Mom and Wife, which is enormously difficult. But, looking at Harriet, you would think that it DID NOT require any work from her, because for Harriet it was genuine.

Every time we come to Johns house,...

Harriet raised two amazing talented daughters that we had Belvoir Terrace had the good fortune to enjoy during their summers exploring the arts in our community. I know that her interest in music lives on her daughters and their accomplishments. The Belvoir community extends our best wishes to her family, her caring husband and we will make a donation to the scholarship at New England Conservatory again now in her memory.

Dear John,Julia and Lizzie,I have never met any of you but I knew and loved Harriet.I last saw her in 1982 ,when as a widower with 2 daughters age 1 and 3 ,I was changing planes in Boston on a flight from California to Israel. She came to the airport and helped me care for my daughters.I am a Pediatrician ,but had run out of diapers and clothes for my younger daughter who was suffering from gastroenteritis.I don't know what I would have done without her help.
You have my deepest...

Dear John, Julia and LIzzie, I heard today from my daughter Laura about the sad news of your Mother's death. I know how much she meant to you and how much her care of you nurtured your talents. We know you loved her very much and she will always live on in you through your music and recollections. Please let us know when you are organizing a musical tribute to your MOther and we will try to attend. Laura Goldberg will be happy to help in anyway.

Both of your girls were successful...
