Sykes, Harriet Lapeer Of Lapeer, age 76, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at McLaren-Lapeer. Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Captain Caleb Senn officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Darlene was born in Almont, Michigan on June 30, 1939, the daughter of the late Harry and Rena (Wooster) Dimick. She was a member of The Salvation Army Flint Citadel Corps. She was also a member of the F.O.E., Burton. Mrs. Sykes was employed by GM at AC Spark Plug Ternstedt and Buick for 30 years. Surviving are four children, George William, Jr. (Nancy) Firmingham, Norman Firmingham, Cheryl Firmingham and Brett (Renee) Firmingham; eight grandchildren, Kari, Crystal, Jason, Cody James, Travis, Brie, Olivia and Michael; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rena and Sharon; three brothers, Alva, Dallas and Norman; many nieces and nephews.
