Harriett Lucille Bales, 83, of Malvern, passed away, Saturday, October 5, 2013 at her home following a short illness surrounded by her family.

Harriett was born in West Lafayette, OH on July 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Clarence and Audrey (Walker) Fleming.

She worked as a press operator at Merit Plastics in East Canton and was a short order cook at the Minerva Eagles.

Harriett is survived by three daughters, Penny Bales, of Malvern; Rainelle (Bo) Dyer, of Malvern; Teresa Bales, of Mogadore, OH; a son, James Bales, Jr., of Harlem Springs; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Bradford, of Plainfield, OH; and an Aunt Lilly Walker of Lore City, OH.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Bales, Sr. and a son Howard Eugene Bales.

Her wishes were to be cremated. There are no services.

Sorry to hear of Harriet's death. She was one of my best friends at West Lafayette High School, class of 1949. My sympathy to all her family.
