E.S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc. Obituary

Harriett Elizabeth Viola Evans-Williams was born on September 23rd, 1980, to Brenda Evans in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her mother Brenda Evans (Dewey); Grandmother Lillian Jordan (PeeWee) and her bonus mom Mary McIntosh.

Harriett grew up in the Kansas City area where she attended Northeast High School. To get her CNA license, she attended Kansas City Kansas Community College & Concorde Career College.  She also attended Avila University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The passion she had to care for others led her to a medical career with Meyers Nursing Center and Menorah Medical Hospital.  She held a position with Heartland Health Laboratories for over 10 years as a phlebotomist.

Harriett was feisty by nature and courageous enough to live her life exactly the way she wanted.  She would say, “Just because I am a Christian, don’t press your luck.”  She was a comedian to her heart.  Her laugh was like no one else’s.  She loved to make others laugh until they would be rolling on the floor.  Everyone will remember her always joking around and her beautiful smile.

Harriett was the mother of three beautiful children and she enjoyed life with them.  She believed in doing whatever makes you happy.  Later in her life, she married Andre Williams and began a new chapter.  When she loved, she gave it her all and loved unconditionally.  Although, her life had its ups & downs, she stayed true to her beliefs.  She lived the bulk of her life in Kansas City and passed away suddenly on October 22nd, 2022, at her home.  She was 42 years old.

Harriett leaves to cherish her memories, three children of KCMO; Michael Young, Evaun Evans and Julien Evans; one brother, Joseph Evans (Maribel) of KCMO; life-long sisters, Melissa Whitsett, Emily Miller and Pamela Joy Miller along with lots of close cousins and a host of relatives/friends.

Services for Mrs. Evans-Williams will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2022 at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Private disposition.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the Chapel.
