Many people continue to hold precious memories in our hearts. With much love to your family, Tony Bottom

Harriet's grandmother and my grandmother were the closest of friends. We loved visiting her and all the family in Schoolcraft in the summers. Such a warm positive person. I will miss her terribly.

4th grade visit on the US Constiutio

Nancy,Donald n Michael I was in Hariets first year of teaching. A 3rd grader in 1958 who had absolutely no clue that WE were her very 1st class. Miss Swartz was my favorite teacher of all time. She introduced our class to Laura Ingalls Wilder books and read the first 3 titles. I became a teacher n librarian because she made learning so much fun. 2013 I left her a note at her home and was so sorry I couldn't express my appreciation n thanks to her. The world needs more Harriet Swartz's who...

What I loved especially was her trademark friendliness. It was infectious and we're all better off because of...

Miss Swartz was an outstanding teacher. Her passion for reading was passed down to so many of her students. The annual readathon was an event I will never forget. Her class helped set me on a path toward a future career in education.

I am so sorry to hear of Harriett's passing. Being from Schoolcraft, she has touched all of our hearts, one time or another. She was a great lady and will be missed by all. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends. Rest In Peace sweet lady.

You were an inspiration to everyone you touched.

Till Valhalla.
