Ross Daniels has just informed me of the death of Harris back in 2017. So sorry to hear this news. Harris was a man of integrity with a good heart. I got to know him during the 1980s when I served on the national board of Amnesty International. Vale Harris Van Beek. David Muir AM

Condolences from Amsterdam. I just learned that Harris passed away in september 2017. He was a good and wise friend and a great father and husband. His parents were also very warm and lovable. Jane, I wish you strength.

we were deeply shocked and distressed to read this morning that Harris had passed away. We will always remember him as a thorough gentlemen and an absolutely lovely man. Norbert recalls the last time he ran into Harris, crossing the road outside our office in O'Connell Street; a brief but warm exchange of greetings and the inevitable "The four of us have got to get together again sometime soon."
