Not sure what to say?

To the Goldin family, My name is Rabbi Benjy Forester. In 2021-2022 while studying at the Jewish Theological Seminary, I was connected with Jay, and we became study partners. I´d take the bus to his apartment once a week, and we´d study Talmud together. He´d always have his book open to the right page, and have a glass of water and some nuts ready for me. We had amazing conversations, and he was always so proud of his Jewish background, from the European yeshiva where his father studied as...

Dear Diana : I was waiting in a doctor's office in Monterey and Patsy Schuelte walked in for her appt and she mentioned that Jay had passed on. I had trouble sleeping last night as I kept thinking about Jay and so many special times we spent together in Law school and how sad I am that we never got to share our lives and families and life's adventures. Jay has a special place in my life and I can never forget the night that Jay, Zane and I drove to NY from New Haven to attend Emory...

I am a Princeton classmate of Jay's and am deeply saddened by his death. He and I sat next to each other in a number of History classes, and we saw each other at major reunions. I commend his successful political career and public service as an attorney. On behalf of myself personally and the Class of 1957 Caring Committee, I extend our sincere sympathy to Diana and the family.

So many wonderful memories. So many adventures together. A warm, honest and generous man. We will miss him

I learned so much from him (& sometimes from his dad, Dr. Harry Goldin a'h). Jay, Heshy Jacob & I would often visit with Rebbes & Jewish leaders. Jay & I even flew to Wash DC to meet with then Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger to take him to task for not sending US soldiers injured in Lebanon to Israeli hospitals. We tackled Board of Estimate votes & community...

Dear Goldin family, I am so sorry to have read about the passing of your beloved, Jay Goldin,. At one time, I was very close with Jay´s parents, whom l knew so well, for so many years as neighbors, who lived in my building on East 81st St. May you always be comforted by all of your wonderful memories of Jay. Sincerely, Estelle Freilich and family

Diana: I am so sorry. You were always kind to me. Steven Scher
