I will never forget the time we hiked up to Signal Knob and on the way back somehow we went the wrong way and became a little lost. Finally we came upon the Strasburg Reservoir and knew where we were but it was a long way from where we needed to be. Just by chance someone came along on a motorcycle and gave Mr. Applegate a ride to his car and was able to come pick us up at the reservoir. Even though we didnt know how we were getting off the mountain and it was getting late he never let our...

i only knew harry for a short time but i will surely miss him he left a big impression on me and my mom he will be sorely missed...i always looked forward to my emails from him

We were Mayor Applegate's neighbors and we are so sad to learn about his passing. With the winter months, we are not out & about so much, and we have learned about this after the fact. He was a great neighbor and he will be missed.

He epitomized what a good citizen should be. I will cherish my Railroad hat and mayor of Strasburg coin as reminders of his warm comments and friendly demeanor. He knew how to make every person...

He always had something good to say that made the day seem a little brighter. It was always a pleasure to talk with him. Mr. Applegate was one of the nicest men I knew. He never forget anybody he met and always had a kind word. To many of us he was Mayor Applegate even after he left the office. He had Strasburg in his heart, the Town, the town employees, and...

I will miss seeing the old grey pickup with you driving and the throw of the hand as a very friendly gesture. A Strasburg Police Officer
