My heartfelt condolences to all Harry's family, and deep gratitude for his vital contributions, as my reporter-trainee mentor in 1960, to my later newspaper career in Washington. This year, by chance through a Bacas cousin at my tax preparer's, I tracked him down by phone in Santa Clara to thank him, a delightful conversation.

Typical of his modesty, I never knew of his WWII record until now.

I am so sorry for the family loss of such a wonderful man.
I was a caregiver for Harry and absolutely loved the time spent together. going on walks working on crosswords shopping etc. I looked forward to each day and all our conversations. Harry was one of a kind and I feel honored to have known him.

Harry and Eliza "One" opened their home, to me in 1965, a place where, without their judgement, I could recover from a personal disaster and re-build my life. Alex and HIllary embraced my young son, my college roommate, Eliza Two
