BENNETT, HARRY L. "JACK" Of Grand Blanc, age 89, died Friday, July 8, 2016, at his daughter's home. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street, Flint on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Internment of cremains with Military Honors will follow immediately after the Mass in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church one hour prior to Mass, Father Frederick H. Taggart, O.S.A. officiating. Harry was born in Flushing, Michigan on January 9, 1927. He lived in Flushing his entire life until 2012, when he and wife Leona moved to Grand Blanc. Harry graduated from Flushing High School in 1944 and at age 17 joined and served in the United States Navy during WWII (1944-1946). After the war he was employed by Buick Motor Division as a tool and die maker, where he worked for 41 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a devout family man, married to his wife, Leona for 62 years. They will have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on July 11th. Harry is survived by his wife, Leona; daughter, Mary (Dennis) Rariden; grandchildren, Dean Bennett, Allison (Andrew)Bohlen and Sean Rariden; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Birch, Addison Bennett and Abigail Bohlen. Harry was preceded in death by his son, Dean Raymond Bennett on October 25, 2014. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Reformation Home Health, Grace Hospice and The Medical Team for their professional and compassionate services.
