I was fortunate to have hunted elk and mule deer with good friends on Harry´s property at Ironside and High Lonesome. On one hunt at Ironside, I was lucky enough to take a bull, and as my guide Dusty Bourasa was skinning it hanging up in the barn, Harry came up, we visited. You´d never know this gentleman with an old Ford pickup truck, wearing an old sweat-stained straw cowboy hat didn´t rightly match up with his reputation. Harry and I had great laughs and I enjoyed driving him on his ranch and loved listening to his stories. RIP cowboy

Harry was an Idaho original. I shared lunches at the Arid Club, but the best times were in Long Valley. His land abutted our cabin and every once in a while some cattle would breach the fences. I'd call the ranch expecting a cow hand to come out, but usually it was Harry himself in his dusty pickup and his horse trailer. A good friend, great guy, an intelligent and resourceful man. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance, we will especially miss his sense of humor.
