Not sure what to say?

I miss Harry very much! He was a wonderful friend, mentor and led by example!

Bud and my father, Gene Forderhase, were best friends at Mizzou and stayed in touch their entire lives, speaking on the phone frequently over the last few years. Bud was always kind, taking me on a very colorful tour of Portland when I came out for a job interview and Harry and Nona came to one of my stepson's soccer games in Hillsboro, just because. I still have a set of lovely glasses they sent for my wedding gift years ago, purchased at the Portland Saturday market. I think the world is...

Harry was the only journalist that I ever trusted. He covered my career and always let me know if we were on the record or not. Later in life we became great friends and I was invited to his Tuesday morning breakfast group at either the Village Inn or Tom´s Pancake House. He was a wonderful person and I will miss him

I first met the Bodine's as a box-boy at the Cedar Hills Safeway while in college. Winona referred to me as "her box-boy" for years. Harry covered local Beaverton news and was always civil, fair and kind! He had a wonderful energetic style to his writing and always made you want to read more! We partnered in helping lead the political effort to passing the WCCLS Operating Levies for 20+ years. His advice was always sound and on the spot! He was a good friend and great person to know and...

My dad, Douglas Seymour, was Harry´s Oregonian teammate covering the Legislature for a couple of years while I was attending Harry´s alma mater and during the summer I worked in the Senate, and I always enjoyed hearing Harry´s Mizzou memories.

For many years at Murray Hills Christian Church, around election time, Harry would offer a class to go through the voter´s pamphlet to talk about what the various ballot measures were about. He never advocated a position, but in his journalistic way he could explain what the issues were. I do remember a few years ago when he was (privately) happy to have met and hosted Amy Klobuchar when she visited Oregon.

I knew Harry and Winona from their time and volunteer work at Cedar Mill Library. They were dedicated to helping others in their community and making a positive difference. They are both going to be missed so much! I'm so fortunate to have known both of them and worked with Winona in the circulation department. Shannon

When I worked at The Oregonian, I knew Harry as a solid journalist and an even better man. He was extremely knowledgeable on all matters political, and I enjoyed setting him off so I could hear the benefits he saw in Nebraska's unicameral legislature. Later, long after becoming the house expert on Washington County affairs, he was a reliable, fun lunch partner. RIP, Harry.
