Not sure what to say?

Uncle Harry always took a great interest in all our lives. Although we did not see him often it was always a pleasure to see him and Aunt Thelma. We pray for Aunt Thelma, their family and friends.

Thelma, so very sad at this time of loss. Praying for comfort and peace.

Harry was a wise and gentle presence in our community. He always stopped to chat when we ran into each other on campus. I am grateful to him (and Thelma!) for their constant support of me and other women in ministry. He will be missed. Praying for your family.

I first met Harry and Thelma at Trinity Christian College in 1967, and we've been friends ever since. So many memories--working together on Reformed Worship, for which he was associate editor the first 12 years, teaching the first worship courses together at Calvin Seminary, and always fellowship in their home over good meals and conversation. I will miss this gentle and thoughtful friend.

We remember so fondly the time Harry and Thelma visited in our home. What great conversations we had- we remember these so many years later. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Deeply appreciated how welcomed I always felt when in the area. My time visiting felt like a home away from home. Will greatly miss Uncle Harry!

I did the sketch of Harry after he shared with me that he understood the tension of straddling cultures. I loved that dear friend. His keen insights and dry humor enriched everyone in the Emeritorium.

Such a multi-talented man, and such a gentle man! We will always treasure our friendship with him, and with you, Thelma, and the girls. Bob and Mary VanderVennen
