There was an American Legion Post in St. Paul, MN that was named Attucks-Brooks. (sadly, it has closed) I knew Attucks was Crispus Attucks and today confirmed that Brooks is in honor of General Brooks. In 1968 the Attucks-Brooks won the Minnesota State American Legion Baseball Tournament. One of the members of that team was Dave Winfield who went on to play at the University of MN and professional baseball and is in the Hall of Fame. General Brooks was a great man and an outstanding role model for me. I first met Harry shortly after he set up shop in Burlingame, CA. I owned a small business in San Francisco, Ca and I wanted to meet this man who was doing LBOs, etc. As a young 28 year old just entering the Business world after serving in the US Army myself, I felt that it was necessary that I get know him and learn from him at short a distance. He was my commanding General, from 1974-1976 with 1/5 inf,25th inf Div. I spend a week with him as soldier of the quarter. I still have his sign photo, that is posted here. I am ret now. He told me "you will do great things doing you time with the military"...he was right.

Harry may you RIP, I thank you for your service & wonderful friendship. You've always been one of the family.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.
