Clymer Funeral Home Cremations - Palm Coast Obituary

On June 13, 2018, we lost one of the good ones. Harry E. Brown was an interesting, educated, well-traveled, fun-loving man with many who called him friend. He held a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctorate. He was a member of numerous civic organizations to include the Elks and Masons. He has been a school teacher, a Lt Col (Green Beret) in the United States Army, ski instructor, combat helicopter pilot, writer and, for 33 years, a practicing attorney in Riverside, CA. Harry also served as a Superior Court Pro-Tem judge. Brown was active in aviation as an aircraft owner, air show enthusiast and reserve Deputy Sheriff.

Since retiring in 2016 and moving to Palm Coast, FL, with his wife, Harry has spent his time traveling, learning to boat on the canals of Florida, and reading every book he could get his hands on.

Harry is survived by his wife, Joyceline; daughter Karen (Chuck) Wilkins; son, Eric Brown; daughter, Lori Brown, 2 step-children, Erica (Steven) Steffenson and Jeffrey (Cate) Almgren; 5 grandchildren; and 6 step-grandchildren, all who loved their Opa very much.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations, 39 Old Kings Rd N, Palm Coast, FL 32137. Viewing is from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Palm Coast Elks Lodge, 53 Old Kings Rd N.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709 in Harry Brown’s name.

The family entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.

We send our condolences to you and your family. Love Charles J. Brown Sr Charles J. Brown Jr Maria Brown Linda Brown Doris Brown. We are deeply saddened and will carry my cousin Harry in my heart. Sincerely, Charlie Brown.

Harry and I served in Berlin from 1958-1959. We used to joke that we were both laterally challenged (before that was such a phrase). I was 6'5", Harry was somewhat shorter.

He tried, patiently and kindly to teach me Morse Code. He was a wonderful teacher. I was an horrific student.

I left the Special Forces in 1959, Harry stayed, and if I had stayed too I would have hoped to become the soldier Harry was. I don't think I would have made it. I can't think of anyone who...

Jacelyn we are so sorry to hear about our friend and fellow Green Beret, Harry. He was one of the good guys. Will miss his honesty and sense of humor. Jim and Roswitha Wilde

Sincere condolences. Saddened to hear that fellow Green Beret and lawyer Harry passed away. He left his mark and will be missed. Proud to have known him and Wish we could have been better acquainted. As such, and to those who knew him, he was a favorite person: tough, erudite, kind and humble. Godspeed Harry as you soar to your well-earned reward.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Harry was an outstanding member and former commander of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Aero Squadron for more than 35 years. His aviation acumen and pilot skills were respected and admired by all of his fellow reserve unit pilots. He will be sorely missed by all.
