Not sure what to say?

When I was 11 years old in 1956, Mr. Durkin was a member of the Syracuse Chiefs baseball team of the Eastern League. He was my favorite player, and I mentioned it to my Dad. One day just before a game as the Chief's were warming up, my Dad took me over to the third base side of the stands and called out "Hey Harry, the kid would like to have your autograph". Mr. Durkin came right over to sign my scorecard and as I recall stayed to chat with my Dad and I about my love of baseball and Notre...

My dad was a police officer and spent his whole life in WO. I always remember him speaking fondly of him. Rest in peace

A truly special person that I had the privilege to know. Harry had a tremendous group of friends and i will miss our conversations. My deepest sympathy to his Family. Rest assurred he has been welcomed to Heaven with open arms.

I was lucky to have first met Harry @ 11 am Mass @ Holy Cross Hospital 20plus years ago almost on a daily basis. Harry was kind and considerate to all. Aside from his family and the church he loved to tell stories about Notre Dame and i was an avid listener. Harry will be missed but not forgotten. He was truly a man for others. May he rest in peace and watch over his loved ones.

I meet Harry over 25 years ago as part of the Notre Dame alumni association board. We quickly became friends over our shared love of ND, baseball and family. Harry introduced me to his son Hap who spent time working for GE where I worked for 23 years. Harry was always upbeat, great storyteller and man of faith. Rest in peace my friend. And Go Irish !!
