Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home - Media Obituary

Harry A. Eder, Jr., a resident of Media, PA, passed away at Riddle Memorial Hospital on April 3, 2023.  He was 92 years old. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Eder will be deeply missed by his family and friends.


Harry was born in Elkton, MD to the late Clara Elizabeth (née Angle) and Harry A. Eder, Sr.  A proud Marine Corps veteran, Harry served in Tsingtao, China from 1947-1949 as security for part of the Western-Pacific Fleet.


He and his wife, Mary, settled in Delaware County where they raised their family. Mr. Eder enjoyed a long career as an engineer with Verizon.  He was a parishioner of Nativity BVM. 


Harry is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; children Ann Eder of Massachusetts, Michael Harrison of Florida, Joseph Eder of Delaware, Anne Marie Kerezsi of Brookhaven, and Michelle Fanelli of Brookhaven. He was the proud grandfather to Max, Megan, Jamie, Laura, Anna, Ivy, Caitlin, Kristen, Michael (Buzz), Shaun, Alejandro, & Kevin, and great-grandfather to Mason, Milo, Dimitri, Killian, Harry, Darby, Stella, Brady, Ryleigh, & Quillyn .


Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 11th at Nativity BVM Church (Franklin & Monroe Sts., Media, PA).  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Media.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Media VFW Post 3460", 11 Hilltop Rd, Media, PA 19063.

Harry you will be missed. Thank you for being a great uncle. Will miss you and when John meets you in heaven he said he wants his tastey cake French apple pie.

A kinder, more loving family man was never known. Harry was a wonderful neighbor for more than 25 years. My heart goes out to Mary and all the kids.
