Not sure what to say?

I miss Coach Mick very much. The sadness leads to happiness and a wave of thankfulness. I love the game of football as much as I did as an 18year old butting heads with a coach who was just as competitive as I was. I give credit to the game of football for many of my successes and joys I have had in life. The credit I have discovered is to those I have come into contact during my years as a player and coach. None have been more impactful than my time with Coach Mick. I have been able to coach...

The older I get [60 this year!] the more at ease i am with letting my instincts run. This last week I've had an unsolicited few moments of reflection on Coach Ewing - no idea it was the anniversary of his passing. The news was so overwhelming when I learned of it late that I didn't do his memory justice here then.

After landing in Hyde Park in June of 1982 not knowing a soul for 1000 miles in any direction, I was ready for kindred spirits in August after two months of calculus 8...

Dear Ewings, Coach Ewing was my QB Coach at UC in 1982-4 and I think so much of him. I have been trying to learn about him for 18 months and finally learned today from the current coach about his passing. He is loved and missed. He touched my life in a special way.

Sincere condolences to David, Kathy and family. Mick was fondly known as 'Uncle Mickey' to our family. He was much loved, respected for his many contributions to students, community and country. He will be and has always been remembered with a smile and happy times at Niles East and Niles North. Find comfort in your memories of his life. Love from The Gerald and Jane Ferguson Family

Dear Family,

Mick Ewing was one of the most devoted and dedicated football coaches of his generation in the Chicago area.

I first met Mick when he was working with our young son at a Nick Mourouzis--Mick Ewing Football Passing Camp in the 1970s. As a sideline observer, I was amazed at how much these two men knew about the game and how passionate they were in sharing it with youngsters.

Mick certainly touched the lives of many people during his coaching journey, and each...

My condolences to Micks family. I was in his history class in high school and a brief member on the football team. He was a tough taskmaster. His advice to me, after I was crammed on a completed pass and smashing tackle, was "join the military" I did and spent 10 years in the Air Force. It turned my life around. I never forgot his teaching and respected him.

You will be missed deeply! Mick and family even though time together was short it was a very special time in my Dads life and to our family. He gave Dad a breath of fresh air, humor and comradory! Not many people get to live to almost 99 he and I share the same birthday! When I light my birthday candles Ill light an extra one for Mick!
Peace to you, love, John Burchall, Barb, Kurt, Ernie & our angel Maria
