Harry O. Hefter

The Mataya family would like to express our deepest condolences to the Hefter family. Harry and our father were best friends for over 70 years and our father often spoke of the friendship and times spent together. A true gentleman had passed and the world is a lesser place for it.

I was very fortunate to have met my cousin Harry a few times. I still remember the last time I saw Harry a few years ago, when me and dad met him and his son Steve for brunch at Walker Brothers. Harry was fascinated by how much I put into researching our family connection and he helped me fill in some details only he knew. Growing up on Greenleaf St, and spending hours and hours at the house, over many years with Harry and Marilyn, have left an imprint on my heart. He was ALWAYS so loving and sweet and kind. He gave the best hugs and always had a smile on his face. And, when he met our son at Richie and Tracey's engagement party he welcomed him as if he was his own. What a wonderful man.
