I have such fond memories of your Dad's visits to Salisbury to visit with my dad, Jack Purnell. They were great buddies for so many years, and Dad always said he was one of the kindest souls he'd ever met. We lost our Dad in 2002, and not a day goes by without thoughts of him. Long time friends of the family. Grew up few doors down from the Hughes home on Sunset Road in Denton, MD. Gov. Hughes kept his minor league baseball arm in shape by passing football with me as a youngster. His wife, Pat, tutored me in French during the summer. Harry R. Hughes always loved his home town of Denton, Caroline County and State of Maryland.
