Harry L. Krapf, Jr., 75, of Telford, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Shirley (Leach) Krapf who died in 2012.
Born in Carbondale, he was a son of the late Jean (Schaffer) and Harry L. Krapf, Sr.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served our country from 1960 to 1965.
After he left the Army, he began his career in construction equipment auctions, sales and appraisals. He started with Vilsmeier Equipment Company of Montgomeryville in 1962, and was promoted to President in 1976. In 1992 he transitioned to President of Vilsmeier Auction Company until 2000. After Vilsmeier, he utilized his professional expertise at Ritchie Bros. Construction, and at the time of his passing was employed with J. J. Kane Appraisal Services, LLC. Harry was passionate about all of the people he worked with over the years and consistently contributed to the success of the companies he was with. Some of his other professional accomplishments included being an officer/executive for Associated Equipment Distributors (AED), International Society of Appraisers, Equipment Appraisers Association of North America, North Penn Industrial Management Club, and the Certified Appraisals Guild of America, along with numerous other professional organizations, and private business ventures.
He was also heavily involved in various community organizations. Harry was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, leading numerous committees over the years. He was a member of the Telford Borough Zoning Committee, the Telford Lions, and the Telford Jaycees. Harry served as President of the Souderton Band Boosters, and President of the Telford Elementary Home & School Association.
He is survived by four daughters: Geneva “Genie” Farr and her husband Tom of Chalfont, Libby Carreras and her husband Isaac of Harleysville, Lisa Kehrle and her husband Mike of Telford, Tina Krapf of Telford, ten grandchildren: Regis (Calen), Carolyn (Michael), Eli, Tommy, Zach, Andi, Lucas, Sonja, Rachel, Sam, a great grandson, Van Rae, a brother, Donald Krapf and his wife Dot of North Wales, and his faithful cohort, his dog, Madonna. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Krapf.

We are so sad to hear of Harry's passing. He was such a great man and so kind to our children as he walked his dog Madonna up and down our old street. He will surely be missed. My condolences to his daughters.
