Mr Kropp was my inspiration to go to Penn State. I will never forget his Penn State banner in his 4th grade class room at North Mianus School. Both Mr Kropp and Mr Legutko were friends with my parents. All these years later Harry and I have kept in touch and were planning a get together in State College. I first met Harry at North Mianus School where he taught 3 of our 4 children over the years. In time I got to know him and Ed as wonderfully talented educators and fun friends. RIP dear friend.

I first met Harry and Ed (as we know, it is hard to say one without the other) in my search for my first real job along the railroad route from New Haven to NYC. When I called the Greenwich foreign language department chairman Jan Caulkin, she immediately put me in touch with Harry and Ed.
