Not sure what to say?

Our mothers were best friends in high school. We met as opponents on the basketball court. Later teammates at summer basketball camp, roommates, teammates, and fraternity brothers at E&H, golf partners, supported each other during our working careers. Traveled extensively the last ten years to sporting events: particularly E&H football and basketball games, 4 Final Fours, two Great 8's, five Wyndham PGAs, and nine of his 30 baseball stadiums. Harry called me every year to wish me a happy...

Harry was a gem! I remember the fire, I was the first on the scene, even beat the fire department. I killed the power, and then we basically just watched the restaurant burn. A lesser man would have counted his losses, but Harry wasn't that way. During the rebuild he made sure his people were taken care of! I remember coming by one day when there was no roof. We stood in the building looking up at the sky. I asked Harry....what are you going to do? He said well Rick you know....it'll be...

I first met Harry with Tom Rudisill, Harry´s friend from Emory and Henry College. He and several other teachers and I from Lord Botetourt High school came to a Liberty Station when Harry first opened his restaurant. Since moving to Mariners Landing, my husband Bill and I have been frequent visitors, and have always enjoyed chatting with Harry, while enjoying our meal. He is missed very much.

I had the pleasure of working with Harry as my district manager of Hardee's in Spartanburg. Very intelligent and fun to work with. This was in 1975. Great respect for him. Praying for the family. I am so sorry.

My sincere condolences for the entire family and prayers continuing. I first meet Mr. Leist when they moved to Meadowwood in Rockingham, NC. Worked for him at Hardee´s while I was in school and also babysat. I was General Manager of Morrison Cafeteria in Lynchburg, VA and went in to eat, there he was, and he remembered me. He was pleased at my work. I will always remember him. Prayers for comfort also.

My husband and I started going to Liberty Station when it first opened. Harry said at that time we were the regular customers from farthest away. ( We drove about 2 hours to eat there.) He remembered us each time we came up there. He would always sit and talk to us, but never once "tooted his own horn". I would never have known his rich history without this obituary. He and his entire family have been in my prayers. He was an incredible person. God bless you!

Dear Marty, Heather and Julie and all the family, We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss him. May God give you comfort and peace at this time. Sincerely, The Hubach Family

Marty, I am so very sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in our prayers. May God give you comfort and his peace during this difficult time.

I will always remember Harry. I was part of the team that sold Liberty Station and was there during the fire and saw how community oriented he was. Rest in peace Harry.
