Not sure what to say?

Harry's mother Hattie Lee always claimed our Robert family and hers were cousins due to a common ancestor in the Civil War. Whatever, Harry and I were lifelong friends. I remember a picnic at his and Nancy's home near Bryan. Our kids were there, too. Harry, ever the spellbinder, sat on the fence and kept young and old enthralled for hours.
I talked him into coming to one class reunion reunion some years ago (see photo) but failed to get him to the last one. He said he had just...

Harry and Marie at Beaumont High School reunion

Harry, as your 67-year old nephew, I wish so much we could have spent much more time together. You were a fascinating addition to this world and will now add your many talents to the hereafter. Rest in peace..you have earned your place of comfort with the Lord.

Oh Harry Lipscomb -- you're no doubt livening up heaven the way you livened up the crunchy brown plains of Bryan College Station back in the 70s when you were our neighbor. Life was never dull, and now the Promised Land got a good shot in the arm. Godspeed, Harry. Cavett Hughes

I especially appreciated how this well-loved physician would remind his colleagues on behalf of their patients, such as assuring that nursing home patients taking drugs that could accumulate had periodic blood tests to avoid side effects. His years of teaching at TAMU came after I knew him, but I know his students and their patients give thanks for his gift of thoroughness.

Dr. Lipscomb was a wonderful person who I got to know through friends he employed at Xerox Center for Health Care Research. He is still remembered at the Texas Medical Center for his great work. My condolences to David, family and his dear friends.

I know you all will miss Dr. Lipscomb greatly. He was a great man! I had the privilege of caring for him years ago during one of his hospitalizations--and at the same time being befriended and taught by him. The healthcare community has lost an inspiration!

Uncle Harry you were always so full of life and vitality- when your body quit cooperating- your spirit remained as lively and spunky as ever. Your children are more my brother and sisters than cousins. And your Nancy, the hub of the family. Rest in peace with the Great Physician-I can't wait to see you both again. Love Betsy

Dr.Liscomb, what a compassionate person. When he left Houston and relocate to this area, my whole family became his patients. He was such a wonderful and caring person. Our thoughts and prayer are with you all. May he rest in peace forever.

Sincerely,
"The Family of the late Dessie & Awbra Smith, Sr."
