Harry and I went all through school together from Andrew Jackson Elementary, Horace Mann Jr. High and then Crawford. We both joined the Naval Reserves the summer between our Freshman and Junior year at Crawford. Harry was one of "the good guys". He was always a good friend. God Bless Harry.

Harry was a classmate at Crawford...we lived at opposite ends of Corinth St and were good friends. A few years ago I was driving through the neighborhood when I saw Harry working on his house, and stopped to visit and share experiences.

Reading Harry's obituary this morning, brought back memories for me. I grew up at 4168 35th Street, between University & El Cajon. The Longdon family lived just across the street. I was 4 months older than Harry. I recall Marie as being a year or two younger than us. As was the custom in those days, I used to go to their house to "play". Harry was an outstanding baseball pitcher with a great fastball/wicked curve combination. I played with him at Colina del Sol for 3 years. His father was a wonderful coach who helped me immeasurably.

I have fond memories of playing baseball with you and of your dad's compassionate coaching.

Harry, you were a real good guy and I want to wish you a peaceful transition into the unknown.
