I am really really sorry to learn of your great loss.my deepest condolences. To the family and and friends.

Bob was a statesman and a great guy. I'm glad to have known him and am sorry I will be out of town when the funeral takes place. My thoughts are with all of his family. The obituary was touching and beautiful.

My condolences to Bob's family. My husband David L. Caldon worked with Bob at Merrill Lynch and thought a lot of Bob. I remember going to his "summer place" for a pig roast for Merrill employees - what a great time we had and he and Sonja were wonderful hosts. He will be missed by many people. Cherish all the good times!

It was my privilege to know Bob as a colleague in the House of Delegates and a friend of many years. He was a statesman in the finest Virginia tradition. Virginia is a better place because of Bob. I count myself fortunate to have shared in his experience and judgment . Nancy and I send our heartfelt sympathy to all his family.
