Not sure what to say?

This came to me as a memory today from Legacy.com. I am so glad it did. I think about this man often. I miss him greatly. Lots of respect and lots of love for him.

I'm so sorry to hear of Gene's passing so many years later. He and my dad (Charles Newman) were friends for a long time when I was a little kid. I kind of think they went to highschool together. My dad passed away back in 1991, when I was 12. It was a long time ago, but I remember my dad always spoke highly of Gene. I am sorry that I did not look him up sooner. He seems to have had a wonderful life and loved by many many people.

I was so sorry to hear of Gene's passing...I will never forget Gene and his pink and black '56 Plymoth or Dodge car (it had the big fins on the back)...We were friends in high school and I always called him "Crunchy" because when he had on his baseball shoes he would always make a crunching sound with his feet on the sidewalk. I haven't seen Gene in a long time but I always think of him when I see "pink & black"...My sympathy to his family.

Gene played a huge role in my life in my younger years, he always had time for me, and I will miss him. he was a great friend. I am so sorry that I was out of town and just learned of his passing.

What a touching service Saturday for such a sweet friend. Melody, Gene's mother, you and all of your precious families are in my prayers. RIP Gene, until we meet again.

So sorry for your loss. Gene was a wonderful friend to my husband, Cliff Davis while he was at Capro.

We enjoyed being your neighbor for many years. Thanks for your kindness and generosity. We will truly miss you.
