Not sure what to say?

I was called by a friend and told of Harry's passing. Harry was truly a wonderful friend to so many musicians, including myself. He really seemed to enjoy just being there to help out.

If anyone comes across a cassette with my name on it in his collection, there's a song on it called "An Angel Named Harry". I wrote it for him. Thank you Harry. You really are with the angels now.

A man of deep and varied enthusiasms, unassuming, overflowing with kindness and with a pixie sense of humor: these are a few of the ways I'll remember Harry. There are songs (a lot of songs, no doubt) which he loved intensely. Here is a quote from one of those, by Peter Mayer, called "Holy Now:" "This morning outside I stood and saw a little red-winged bird, shining like a burning bush, and singing like a scripture verse. It made me want to bow my head ... 'cause everything is holy now." To...

Harry was a real treasure in the local folk community. The support he gave to several artists really made a difference in their ability to create the music they loved. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Uncle Harry and Aunt Helen,
Nancy and I have been traveling and just now had a chanch to look at e-mails. We so much enjoyed the visit we had with Harry last summer at Bert's. It is sad to lose anyone but especially a relative. We will miss him at Bert's parties. Please know we are truly sorry to hear of your loss and will keep you in our prayers. May God give you strenght to weather this burden.

I was so saddened to learn of Harry's passing. I'm one of the musicians he helped, and I am forever indebted to his support, encouragement and assistance that really made the difference in my career. He was a remarkable person. I have such good memories of our times at Kerrville, Folk Alliance, and one time in particular when he drove all the way to Ithaca to see me play... and then sat me down in the car to hear his latest favorite musicians, putting ten more CDs into my hands to take home...

Dear U. Harry and A. Helen and family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Harry's death. It hits especially close to home knowing he was my age. Such wonderful comments others have made about Harry and his life. It is sad I did not know him as an adult. I have wonderful memories of you and your family in Ocean City and when we were growing up. Where has the time gone? My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless you.
With love,
Sally Fitts
