Not sure what to say?

I served on the California State Bar's UCC Committee with Harry for a number of years. I went with him to Sacramento to testify in front of committees of the California State Senate when the 2010 amendments to UCC Article 9 were being considered, and edited (and published in the Business Law News) his article arguing in against adoption of the "only if" rule for reporting the name of an individual debtor on a UCC-1. (If you know, you know.) This morning (October 12, 2024, Yom Kippur 5825),...

I am saddened to discover that Harry has passed away. I had the privilege of working with Harry on the UCC forms for 20 plus years. We had countless conversations along with countless versions of the forms. He was also a dear friend and always enjoyed seeing each other at either the IACA conferences or when he visited Austin. He was an amazing individual, it was an honor to know him, and he will be forever missed and remembered.

Friends for the past 75 years, saddened to see that he has passed on. Condolences to his family. He will be missed.

I just learned of Harry's passing and am truly saddened. He was not only a business colleague, but a friend. Since our first encounter at a conference in 1994, Harry spent time with me sharing his vast knowledge, insight and experience - both professionally and personally. I feel fortunate to have known Harry. I will miss him.

Harry & Allen tour Iowa in 1994.

Harry Sigman, a good friend for more than 25 years, we toured many cities in the U.S. and you planned a 10-day tour of my own home state of Iowa. We toured Albania, Greece, Poland, Romania, and other countries I don't recall at the moment while we talked about property law and hatched dozens of plots. I miss you. Allen Welsh

It was a privilege to know and work with Harry. Exceptionally kind and inspiring and a formidable intellectual sparring partner. He made me feel special and modest at the same time. So grateful for our time together.

Sad.

Miles.

Harry was a truly remarkable individual. In the all too brief time that we at MAZON were privileged to know him, we so appreciated learning from him, discussing his world view, enjoying his wit, and sharing coffee (decaf please!) on many mornings.

As saddening as this notice was, it was gratifying and fitting to see Phi Sigma Delta at UCLA mentioned. Harry was my fraternity brother there, and although our paths diverged for decades, I have never forgotten our times togther. My respect for him, high as it was, deepened over the years as I observed his advances in the law (I overlapped with him at Harvard Law School). Rest in peace, Harry C.
