SMITH, Harry D. – Of Flushing, age 85, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016.



 



Visitation 1-8 p.m. Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.



 



Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the funeral home, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.



 



Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 Honor Guard.

Those desiring may make contributionrs to St. Jude Chidlren's Research Hospital or Veteran's Administration.



 


Harry was born on July 28, 1930 in Lincoln, Illinois. He was the son of Harry Deneen and Eunice (Woods) Smith and was a graduate of Ben Davies High School in Indiana.



 



Harry was a member of Flushing Moose Club and was in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953.



 



Mr. Smith was employed in Tool & Die at Ternstedt Coldwater Road Plant for 36 years, retiring in 1991 and was a member of UAW Local #326.



 



Harry enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.



 



Harry is survived by four children,



Lori (Tim) O'Brian of Davison,



Lisa Helms and Scott Smith, both of NC and



Marty of LA.



 



Also survived by four grandchildren, Joshua, Erica, Jordan and Audrey;



 



brother, Ron (Kelly) of CA;



 



Also leaving behind companion of 31 years, Loralee Henderson and her family, Hope, Larry, Rachel and Nicole Black.



 



He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele, in 1982 and wife, Suzanne “Tudy”, in 1984.



 



If you were a part of his family, you were truly blessed and truly loved.
