Not sure what to say?

Harry was my PE teacher and coach at SSU,and then my AD and asst.coach at Ohio Southern, what a great guy and a positive influence on me and those around him.I will always remember his enthusiasm for sports, family, and life.I thank him for all his support.May God bless Harry, his family, and all the lives he has influenced over the years. Sincerely, Chris Barnes

Thanks Denny Ramey! I am so sorry.

I interviewed Harry for my "Excellence in Athletics in the Portsmouth Area" book in 2004. He was a moxie player and coach in every place he played. He played with and coached some of the very best in service ball, college baseball and basketball at Ohio University, and in coaching so many wonderful young athletes. Larry Hisle was Harry's son, Michael's, very best friend outside of his dad. Harry had a special section on Michael Weinbrecht...

My wife Sally & I offer our deepest sympathy for your loss. Harry was one of my favorite Coaches,I learned a great deal from him. From the first day he selected me for reserve basketball when I was only a freshman. I was so impressed with his enthusiasm and his knowledge of sports. He helped so many young athletes succeed. He was kind and helpful to everyone that knew him. He was a great leader, motivator and friend. He will never be forgotten.

Sadly missed. RIP Harry. Thankful for the time spent in Athletics as department secretary at SSU. Some of the best times of my life.

Coach Weinbrecht had a great influence on my life.I played for him at PHS and was on his, regional championship, team in 1965. I became a high school baseball coach in 1978 and have spent the past 37 years emulating him and using the skills he taught me. I will be forever grateful for the life skills he gave me as my coach. I am a better person, father, husband and coach because of him. My prayers go out to all of his family.

Todd ~ Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family! May your Dad. R.I.P & May he R.I.H. Though I never knew him personally, I have heard nothing but good things about Harry from my father (Gary) ! It's a difficult process that no one should have to go through and I can't imagine the pain of losing either one of my parents Stay strong & keep your head up! Your Dad is in a better place, pain free and looking down on you all! God Bless!

Harry was one of the greats of our community. I know that I will miss him, but I also know that he lives on through each of us. RIP, Harry. My most sincere condolences to his family.

Becky and family, I, like so many others, was touched by and inspired by your dad. He was my teacher and coach in high school and later in our lives it was so great to share a conversation with him, man to man. I really looked up to him in so many ways. You had a great dad, loved and respected by so many. I celebrate his memory. Tom Horr

Many years have passed since I was told by Coach Weinbrecht that the growth of Shawnee State College would greatly be enhanced by the success of the Men's Basketball Team. Fast forward and all that Shawnee State University has become is due to his major contributions. It is my honor and privilege to have been a part of his vision and a plank owner of the Basketball program. It is a great legacy that he leaves behind at Shawnee State but that legacy pales in comparison to the positive...
