I remember him at Serramonte High School with a huge Afro! It was years later I realized he was Luanda, Melinda & Uganda’s brother... I remember him playing bass & being so cool! Or at a family party (again being so cool)... everyone was so proud of his success with his pies & talking about getting pies or helping him @ his shop or the festivals... I send love to the family & have a gift from Ma Wesley for Simone when she’s ready to receive it. Live you all!

It’s so ironic Aaron how our lives crossed during our 60+ years on Earth. Living in the same Daly City neighborhood we attended elementary and junior high together, and our freshman year at Serramonte High. You went on to a different high school thereafter but after graduation we both moved to New York City. It took decades before we’d see each other again over our love of pies. As I told you I too bake and love pies. I had the pleasure of enjoying yours, I bought 3 of them that summer day! ...

I met Haruwn at my local farmers market where he invited me to sample his pecan pie, sharing that he baked them with an unchanged southern recipe, and indeed it was the best I've had since leaving the south, and honestly ever. His sincerity and bright light is a gift I often remember. Deep condolences and care to family and loved ones.

I was not lucky enough to have known Haruwn personally but as a fellow surfer in-time I know his spirit.
That spirit that says...I love you.
That...I live for you.
That...I'd die for you.
What a gift he clearly was for so many.
The vibes will forever be altered but will forever be imprinted on those that were lucky enough to be graced by his spirit.
We should all be so lucky...while making sure those around us feel exactly the same way....

Haruwn was a LIGHT to behold. We loved seeing him at our Farmer's Market each Sunday morning, definitely the brightest tent of all the vendors. Ever "present" to open his heart to both of us any and every time we met. His enthusiasm, which means "one with spirit" was so contagious, his smile a gift each time he generously showered upon us. His LOVE and SPIRIT live on, it's impossible to say 'good-bye' so for now dear friend until we hug again xoxoxo Darlene & Jess

Some of my fondest memories of returning home to San Francisco from college were playing gigs with Haruwn around the Bay Area, including our weekly gig at the wine bar on Polk Street. I don't remember how we came in touch initially (likely someone needed someone to fill in, as most jazz gigs come about), but I spent '09-'11 playing w/ him. I'll always remember how he'd close his eyes and gather himself before counting us off. I loved to keep time for his solos--he had a wonderful balance...

I've known Aaron and his family since I was 4 years old. With that said, I need not say anymore. The Kennedy family has been connected and watch over each other for over six decades plus. I've already asked God to watch over his family.

I met this man on Jan. 2 , 2020. I’ve been wanting to surf the point for a while but was apprehensive because I wasn’t familiar with the break. Then this guy pulled up in his minivan along with a buddy. He introduced himself and invited me to join them which I did. His kindness left an incredible mark on me. Especially in a culture of surfers who tend to remain closed off and guarded. Before we went our separate ways we took a pic together. Thank you Haruwn, rest in paradise
