Not sure what to say?

He was a great officer who did the right thing for all he associated with, especially the Citadel cadets. I am 92, but remember him well. Thanks for posting this in his honor! Phil Clayton, class of 1953.

I was there when he played stickball with ROJAM in 3rd Btn... I never had to see him for disciplinary reasons but went to his office to ask for a favor of the heart. He granted it and I ended up 6 months later married. I saw him for inspections a few times. Very great man. I wish I'd known him better. I should have probably gotten in trouble more! Well met, my friend and good journey. Toby/Jerry Wilson ,India Company, Class of '86

May God bless each of you at this difficult time. I think Harvey led a life that is to be celebrated as he touched so many lives. He had an infectious smile and loved to laugh. To all of the family, May you feel a peace about you knowing that he is in Heaven looking down and smiling on everyone, especially those at The Citadel. Hel loved The Citadel as much as anyone I know.

Debbie and family,
So sorry to hear about your dad passing.
May god bless and take care.
your neighbors Pattie and Jim Kelly

Dear Margie. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Harvey was an amazing man. He was a true Citadel man ...wearing the Ring of Gold with pride and honor. He was a real"Bulldog" and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He touched thousands of lives as a leader, mentor, friend and family man. He was a Godly man, a true American and a distinguished member of the Citadel family. He can never be replaced in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. I remember my last...

Col Dick was one of the first people I met when I began my knob year in 1979 and through all my years at The Citadel he demonstrated a remarkable balance of justice and compassion. He had a daunting task to assume his duties while the legendary Boo was still on campus serving in a different capacity from the one for which he will always be remembered. Col Dick handled that situation with tremendous grace and dignity. I hope that others who observe my life will one day be able to say that...

I know Harvey Dick was very special to my father, Jack Knox ('53). My dad had many wonderful and entertaining stories about his adventures with Harvey. I was saddened to hear of Harvey's passing. The world has lost a great soldier, a great friend, and a great man - My condolences.

Colonel Dick left a lot of Lambs to remember him.

I would have to say that Col. Dick was a very passionate man, about The Citadel, his family, his country. I loved him. Even though I was not a grad, but worked there, he made me feel every bit a part of the College as a grad. I'll always appreciate him for that. You too, Margie. God bless.
