I am truly sorry to hear about a loss of Dr. Harvey A. Itano and would like to express heartfelt sympathy. He had contact with warm-heartedness to me. We have good memories especially when took trips to Fukutani and Tokushima in Japan concerning with Itano family history. I worked together at UCSD around two years from 1972 and also at Okayama University around one year on 1983. During workings, he helped me much for especially making research papers. I was greatly saddened by the news of the Death of Professor Harvey Itano. I had the privilege of working in his laboratory at the National Institutes of Health and of getting to know him as a mentor and friend. He was truly a giant intellect and a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed.
