Harvey A. Roy

Harvey A. Roy, 87, of 500 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea, died Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. He was the husband of the late Germaine C. (Dionne) Roy.

Born in Northbridge, MA, the son of the late Francois X. and Wilhemina (Nolet) Roy, he lived in Swansea for many years, in New Hampshire for 8 years and in Florida for 18 years, returning to Swansea last year.

He was the superintendent of the Ocean Grove, Swansea, Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a lifetime member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

He is survived by 4 children, Constance "Connie" Sampson and Leo Roy, both of Swansea, Alice Thompson of Tilton, NH and Brian Roy of Laconia, NH; a brother, Leo J. Roy of Palm Bay, Florida; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Laura Pouliot, Beatrice Dion, Arlene Desjardin, Yvonne Morvin and Alice Poulin and the grandfather of the late Kyle Roy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 2, at 9 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Ocean Grove, Swansea.
