HALE, Hawley A. “Sonny” – Of Flint and Houghton Lake, age 86, died Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Munson Hospital-Grayling.


Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.


Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.


Visitation 12-8pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.


Hawley “Sonny” was born in Flint, Michigan on March 15, 1938, the son of the late Robert and Flora (Ross) Hale. He graduated from Ainsworth High School. Sonny married Sandy Conrad in November 23, 1957 in Flint. He was a member of the Flint Steelheaders. Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He retired from General Motors-Flint Metal Fab Division and was a member of UAW Local #659.


Surviving are children, David Hale, Vickie (Randy) Carpenter, Bob Hale, and Timothy (Sabrina) Hale;


Grandchildren, Jessica (Jon) Kenney, Amanda (Nick) Dawson, Ronie (Jordan) Smith, Timmy Hale and special friend, Megan Albro, Nikki Green and Jordan Rose and special friend, Alexis Brown;


Several great-grandchildren;


Close family friends, Keith (Kathy) Green, and J.D. (Carrie) DeLaRosa;


And several nieces and nephews.


He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra, son, Rodney Hale, daughter, Nancy Hale and brother, Robert Hale.
