I know Hayden when I came to Muskegon Community College (MCC) in the Fall of 1997 as a chemistry faculty. Hayden was the chair of the Math-Science department at that time. He introduced me to the other faculty members in the campus and provided me information about the city for the comfortable living in the area. He was a great person, and I liked him a lot as mentor in the department. He will be missed. RIP Hayden

So sad to hear about the news. Rest assured that we know where he's at right now. Mom, Sally Cooper Ball always spoke highly of him. I would run into him and occasion while at Muskegon Community College in between classes. We had some great short talks. He was a true Renaissance Man in so many ways. He will be greatly missed. RIP

I was introduced to Hayden through the Friends of Hackley Public Library, which blossomed into a friendship that never left any pauses in conversation. We would meet up for breakfast at Carmen´s, and generally found ourselves bumping up against the early lunch crowd. We always found something interesting to discuss - his breadth and depth of both subject and knowledge was amazing. Hayden will be missed greatly.
